Services
There are 3 different ways that I can support you with your baby-carrying journey. I offer a no judgment service which I hope accommodates everyone who wishes to babywear. I will never pressure you into doing something that you don’t want to or don’t feel comfortable with. I am also not anti-pram, whilst it doesn’t work for me I understand that it is a very useful piece of equipment and you will see that we actually have 2 prams in my house!
1:1 consultation
As the name suggests this is when I work with you as an individual or with one other person at an appointment that last usually 60-90 minutes. This time can be used in 1 appointment or it can be split over 2 appointments (for example a 60-minute consultation with a 30-minute follow-up at a later date.) The consultation can be carried out at my home or I can travel to you for free anywhere in the Stroud/Stonehouse area, with a small additional charge of £5 for other areas in Gloucestershire. (Please note that it isn’t possible to bring all of my carriers along to appointments at home.)
The consultation price includes the hire of ONE carrier for 2 weeks or ONE stretchy wrap for 4 weeks.
Sling Hires
Fortnightly I will be in Woodruffs Cafe in Stroud town centre, upstairs in the children’s room. This is a more informal library setting where you can ‘drop-in’ to have a chat with other parents, have a look through the slings that I have on offer to hire, get troubleshooting advice and to return any hired slings
It is also possible to reserve and pick up slings or carriers from my home and also return them to my home.
Sling hires are charged at £8 for 2 weeks or £15 for a month. At the moment I am not taking monetary deposits, however, to cover for any loss or damage of the carriers I ask that you supply me with your PayPal details should I need to send a charge to cover any of my costs for late returns, replacement or repair of the carriers or slings. This is subject to review at any time.
Sling Library
I run a monthly sling meet at Kings Stanley Village Hall on the 1st Tuesday of the month between 2 and 4pm. Appointments of 15 minutes can be made with me, booking is advised so that I can see as many people as possible. Within these 15 minutes we can talk about one carrier being used for a front or hip carry. The carrier or sling can be one from the library or help with fitting and adjustment of your own carrier. It is important to note that this is not recommended for learning new skills such as woven wrapping or back carrying or for if you don’t know where to start with carrying. For these, a 1:1 consultation would need to be booked.
From time-to-time I will use the first hour of the library to run a specialised workshop such as ‘Carrying and the Fourth Trimester and ‘An Introduction to Woven Wrapping’ which would be run by a fellow consultant from Roots and Slings in Bristol. Dates for these would be advertised on my Facebook and Instagram pages.
